411 Pain Donates to Middle School Courtroom

Last Friday, Nova Middle School celebrated the grand opening of its new 1-800-411-PAIN Courtroom as part of its Law Studies Program. As part of the ribbon-cutting celebration, there were presentations given by Broward County school board members, the school's law teachers, a member of the Urban League of Broward County and the President of the National Bar Association. Students also held a mock Supreme Court trial while learning the art of public speaking by presenting their case before a jury.

The 1-800-411-PAIN courtroom is state-of-the-art. Complete with jury, advocate and judge seating, the courtroom will serve as the backdrop for future mock trial competitions. In addition, The 1-800-411-PAIN Courtroom is a place where students in the law program can practice their advocacy skills, host education conferences and attend law classes.

Due to the charitable efforts and funding by signature donor 411 Pain, the program was able to become a reality. Current and former Nova families also played a part in the project by sending in their donations as well. In order to recognize all the individual family sponsors, faux books are being painted on the courtroom walls. Because the courtroom will receive maintenance, continued donations are being accepted by anyone that wishes to contribute to the enhanced learning of the students. Nova Middle joins only two other schools in the state with a full-time dedicated courtroom. In its 8 years, the program has served almost 2,000 students interested in pursuing studies or careers in the legal field.
